FINNEGAN’S HELL – new Christmas video and single

November 27, 2017 Comments off

New single

Europe’s most exiting contemporary Celtic punk band is back with a vengeance! By releasing the unorthodox Christmas single “Paradise Town” Finnegan’s Hell is redefining what Celtic punk is and should be. The band is broadening the perspective of a genre where new ideas are few and far between. In short, this is the shape of Celtic punk to come.

“Paradise Town” is the first single from the coming album “Life and Death”, to be released worldwide on February 23rd, 2018. The album features 13 tracks, which span a variety of different songs ranging from ultrafast Celtic punk to folk rock inspired by reggae, Americana and Scandinavian folk music with a twist of Metallica and the Grateful Dead. The songs are musically diverse, but they share the lyrical themes of life and death, taking the listener on a rollercoaster ride from the cradle to the grave.

Since the release of the critically acclaimed album “Drunk, Sick and Blue” in 2014, Finnegan’s Hell has been touring Europe earning a reputation as one of the best live acts on the Celtic punk scene. Recording the new album “Life and Death” measures were taken to preserve the raw energy from a live performance, and the result is a record which takes no prisoners.

“Fans have been asking for a new album for many years now, but I am glad we didn’t rush back into the studio. We decided to give ourselves plenty of time to explore new ideas and develop our sound, and it really paid off. “Life and Death” finds the band at the top of its game”, says Mick Finnegan, the banjo and tin whistle player of Finnegan’s Hell.

THE BRAMLEYS – S/T – long before Irish-punk and Celtic-punk exists

September 18, 2017 Comments off

OUT NOW
In the new digital series
“Back on Track”
“never released before on the digital platforms

This album was released in 1993 for the first time.
This was long before the terms Irish-punk and Celtic-punk with distortion guitar exists.
This is straight in the vein of Pogues, Men They Couldn’t Hang and Dubliners.

In 1990 the brothers Peter and Patrick Heurlin get the band The Bramleys together.

Peter found Ed, an Irishman in Sweden, drunk and singing behind their couch together with a friend in Peter’s apartment in Malmö, Sweden. Patrik and Anders had previously been playing together in Nasty Nutez. Richard and Alexander were old buddies to the band.
And the band was born…

1992-1995 The Bramleys toured a lot in Sweden, the craving for Irish folk rock grew fast.

Earlier, the scene most consisted of the troubadours, but now came The Bramleys and poured a bucket of kerosene on the glow that was about to go out.

BANG !!!!!!! Parties, pubs, Guinness, St. Patrick’s Day, gigs and private events.

1995 The Bramleys came to an end.

Alexander was the one who continued to play music, he ended up in David and the Citizens.

THE BRAMLEYS
Ed Menton: Vocals
Alexander Madsen: Mandolin, vocals
Patrik Heurlin: Acoustic guitar, vocals
Peter Heurlin: Bas, vocals
Anders Kvist: Drums, vocals
Richard Wood: Tin Whistle, vocals

New single out now

In 2015 Celtic punk rockers Finnegan’s Hell made their first appearance at Woodstock Festival in Poland – the biggest open air festival in Europe. The gig was a huge success and Finnegan’s Hell was voted “best foreign band” by the audience, meaning the sharp-dressed gentlemen were invited back to perform on the main stage in 2016. This time some 100 000 people came to see the show.

Few Celtic punk bands have the ability to get 100 000 people to pogo dance, or to sing along to songs that have not even been released. Finnegan’s Hell managed to do just that at Woodstock, and to celebrate pulling off that stunt the band is now releasing the EP “Live at Woodstock”.

The live EP features the furiously fast drinking song How Am I To Make It?” and the crowd pleaser “Coal Mine” – two tracks which give a foretaste of the new album from Finnegan’s Hell to be released this fall. Last but not least the band’s classic instructional song on the proper way of bringing up a child was added to make the EP a tripple Celtic punk treat. “Jar Of Porter” that is. Enjoy it loud to a pint of plain!

Babian – new album out now

May 26, 2017 Comments off

The new album from Babian (baboon in Swedish) ”Den AndraSidan (The Other Side) is due to be released on the 26th of May 2016.
Babian’s new record started out as a chain letter between the band members involving everybody in the song writing process. As a result a new and darker sound emerged and with it lyrics with symbolic and sometimes even introspective elements. In a new world order where lies have turned into alternative facts and submission is the only path to freedom Babian forces the listener to think twice and hopefully come out with new perspectives- on the other side

Babian is a Swedish rock band with three previous records in their catalogue. The band has been hailed as the future of Swedish rock and received extraordinary reviews for both records and live performances. Babian has been nominated for the ”P3 guld” (Swedish radio music awards) performed in national radio and television and composed music for popular TV-shows. The band has played on most major stages in Sweden and also toured Norway, Finland and Germany besides performing at the Roskilde festival in Denmark.
