“Look Up Look Down” is the first single from J. Tex & the Volunteersthe new album “House on the Hill”.

“House on the Hill” is the title of  new album, released by Heptown Records on the 26th of October 2012. Behind the minimalist cover are 12 strong songs that show the band in a new and developed stage.

The music is firmly rooted in American music but with a twist; a new take on a classic sound. The instrumentation is explorative and varied with a broad range of influences with a little bit of something for everyone.

J. Tex & the Volunteers are still one of Denmark’s strongest, swinging and true roots music bands.

Without loosing its grounding in the tradition of American folk music, J. Tex & the Volunteers have with “House on the Hill” created a more inclusive and diverse album.
“House on the Hill” is made of six home crafted songs written by J. Tex, as well as interpretations of Johnny Cash, Steve Earle and “Little Feat.” Enjoy!
